Commission
Agency commission is 15% of gross billings on space, color, cover, and preferred position charges, but withdrawn on accounts overdue.
General
Advertisers and advertising agencies assume liability for all content of advertisements printed, including text, data, graphics, illustrations, and photographs, as well as all claims against the publisher arising therefrom. Advertisers and agencies agree to indemnify and pay for the defense and save the publisher harmless from any claims, including suits for libel, violation of right of privacy/publicity, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, liability for use of trade secret material, and claims based on contents or subject matter of such advertisements. All advertisements are published on the representation that the agency and/or advertiser are properly authorized to publish the entire contents and subject matter thereof. The publisher reserves the right to reject any advertisement not in keeping with publisher's standards. Regulations governing acceptance of advertising are the same as those shown in Standard Rate and Data Service Business Publication Edition Contract and Copy Regulations. Advertisements that simulate editorials must carry the word "Advertisement" in 8 point type. No conditions other than those stated in this media kit will be binding on the publisher unless specifically agreed to in writing by the publisher. Publisher will not be bound by conditions appearing on insertions that conflict with provisions herein including payment disclaimer clauses from advertising agencies. Rates are based on the total number of insertions or issues used within a 12 month period. Each page of a spread or each fractional page will be counted as one insertion toward the earned frequency rate. Rebate is given if a lower rate is earned during the contract period; short rate is applied if frequency falls short of anticipated level. Individual insertions may not be cancelled after closing date. Invoices are rendered monthly at the date of publication of each issue, net 30 days. Publisher is not liable for delays in delivery and/or nondelivery in the event of an Act of God, action by any governmental or quasi-governmental entity, fire, flood, insurrection, riot, explosion, embargo, strikes whether legal or illegal, labor or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slow down, or any condition beyond the control of publisher affecting production or delivery in any manner.
Print Production Requirements
Printing: web offset. Binding: saddle stitch. Live copy not intended for bleed should be 3/8" all sides from publication trim size. Only digital submissions can be accepted. Ads can be manipulated to fit our specifications for an additional charge. There is no charge for bleed. There is a charge for all production work, including typesetting. Contact publisher for specifics. All production charges are noncommissionable.
Proofs must be supplied for all ad materials. Without a supplied proof, accuracy cannot be guaranteed. No makegoods will be given on ads submitted without an accompanying proof.
Preferred file format is press ready PDF or PDFX1A: all fonts must be embedded and all colors must be CMYK: non-cmyk colors require additional plates at the color rates listed above. All raster images must be high-resolution (300 ppi or higher; jpeg compression, if used, must be at Highest Quality setting). Files with transparency or drop shadows should be flattened by the client: flattening settings should be at High Resolution (300 ppi or higher). Other acceptable formats are Photoshop TIFF or JPEG (300 ppi, CMYK) and Adobe Illustrator (EPS or PDF format, all colors as CMYK, images at 300 ppi, all transparency flattened at High Resolution, and all fonts converted to outline). It is recommended that graphics files be preflighted before submission to avoid send-backs. Please send on a CD with a proof. We strongly discourage the transmission of advertisements via email.
