Belmont Publications publishes a professional print journal for practicing dental hygienists, Dimensions of Dental Hygiene and a digital-only edition, Dimensions Digital.
First published in February 2003, Dimensions of Dental Hygiene is a monthly, peer reviewed journal that provides cutting edge research and information from the nation’s leading dental hygiene and dental educators to the practicing dental hygienist in a practical, easy-to-read, format. In October 2008, Belmont will produce and distribute its first digital-only edition, Dimensions Digital. Featuring articles and interviews with key dental and dental hygiene educators, Dimensions Digital will provide unique content in a highly interactive and novel way.
Online & Electronic Offerings
Newly redesigned for greater interactivity and increased stickiness, dimensionsofdentalhygiene.com is the destination for practicing dental hygienists. The site is home to the new myhygienespace.com, a professional and social network for dental hygienists. Other interactive areas include Dimensions CE Library, interactive forums, and the innovative Are You Game? crossword puzzle that tests our readers’ knowledge about oral health topics and the sponsor’s products.
Dimensions readers are invited to join their colleagues in sharing ideas, learning from experts, staying abreast of new products and services, researching topics, and accessing back issues on the Dimensions website. Since August 2004, more than 10,000 practicing hygienists have become registered members of the Dimensions online community.
Recognizing the growing acceptance of electronic media by the dental hygiene community, Dimensions produces a monthly E-newsletter that provides readers with instant updates on the latest research project, upcoming features, and survey results.
Continuing Education
In May 2007, Belmont Publications was awarded ADA CERP recognition. In addition to creating and publishing print CE courses that are underwritten by unrestricted educational grants from corporate sponsors, Dimensions allows its readers to earn CE units each month via special editorial that appears in the journal. Live Events
Belmont offers one-day classroom-style programs, under the Partners In Practice brand. Coming in 2009, Dimensions will launch a combined hands-on, lecture and exhibit program called Dimensions EXPO! This two-day event will be held in Southern California and will allow attendees to learn from the same world class educators who write for the print journal.
